Lodging
The hunting lodge is an original fixture on the preserve that was built in 1866. The cabin overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west and it is not uncommon to see bald eagles fishing in the pond below the front porch.
An addition was added sometime in the 1920s which included putting in a kitchen and another full bathroom. We recently restored the hunting cabin in 2004 to include all the ammentities one would expect in a first class hunting resort while keeping the original rustic appeal the cabin has to offer. With 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms the log cabin will comfortably sleep four hunters. The open kitchen is a great place to cook up meals after a long day out on the preserve. The cabin has a washer and dryer for use and a wrap around porch to relax on while the sun sets over the mountains.
The log cabin is available for rent during the off season so please inquire about rental rates by clicking on the "Contact Us" page.
